Dambusters flight winner Victoria Harvey with four year old son Bradley

Victoria who is from Dinnington won first prize in the AeroVenture December 17th 2003 Raffle. The raffle was organised my museum member Eric Beckett and raised a total of £1000 towards the restoration of the museum's recently acquired Douglas DC-3 airliner.

The Dragon Helicopters Dam Busters flight retraces the training flights over the Derwent Dam in 1943 by the Lancaster bombers of 617 Squadron.

Flying from RAF Scampton the subsequent raid used the famous Barns Wallis bouncing bombs. The mission, commanded by Guy Gibson badly damaged dams feeding Germany's armaments industry in the Rhur Valley

The helicopter flight was generously donated to the museum by Dragon Helicopters Bill Leach and takes place regularly from Sheffield City Airport.
