2011 Events at AeroVenture
| 26th & 27th March | Open Cockpit Day
A selection of cockpits not normally open to the public will be available to view with volunteers in attendance to explain the role of the aircraft in question.

| 15th May | 999 Open Day
Open Day of Emergency Vehicles and related exhibits demonstrations by SY Fire Service (subject to operational availability) Trade Stands and Refreshments.

| 5th June | Classic Motorcycle Show
A meeting and display of Classic Motorcyles organised by Doncaster and District MCC.
|
| 11th & 12th June | Model Boat Show
A two day family and enthusiasts event of Radio Control model boats with pool for demonstrations together with a large number of exhibitors, many trade stands selling kits and equipment.

| 25th June | Backlot Tour and Storage Areas Day
A special day when some of the museums storage and archives are open to the public during a day of guided tours. Times TBA on the day.
|
| 17th July | Helicopter Preservation Day
An open Day held by The Yorkshire Helicopter Preservation Group with behind the scenes access to restoration projects. Visiting helicopters may call in subject to availability.

| 13th & 14th August |
NEW : A two day event with Re-enactment groups depicting the opposing Cold War forces of the Warsaw Pact and NATO forces. A large collection of military vehicles from the period plus equipment and (deactivated) weapons will be on view.

| 26th to 29th August | SAMA 82 Camping Weekend
SAMA 82 Camping weekend (the South Atlantic Medal Association represents veterans from the 1982 Falklands War, during the weekend our full Falklands collection will be on display including restored helicopters and aeroplanes involved in the war.
We are also displaying our collection of parts recovered from Falklands aircraft crash sites from our 2007 and 2009 expeditions to the islands)
Veterans and public alike are welcome.

| 8th & 9th September | HLF Heritage Open Day
We once again join with English Heritage for the National Heritage Open Days event with a free entry day for all to the museum displays. Guided tours subject to staffing availability

| 11th September | Jeep and Cheerful
A great day celebrating the famous WW2 Jeep in both its original military and later civilian forms. This display intends to illustrate the history of this iconic vehicle in peace and war.

| 8th & 9th October | Open Cockpit Days
Selection of the museums cockpits normally not open to the public are available to view with volunteers in attendance.

| 30th October | Military & Radio Electro Jumble
The Military Radio Equipment jumble sale for IET Members and the General Public. With The Sixth, Annual, Airborne Radio/Radar Lecture in the afternoon. Free to IET members

| 13th November | Squadrons Remembrance Day
A commemorative wreath laying for Squadrons that flew from RAF Doncaster at the Squadrons memorial wall in the museums hangar. Members of the public are welcome to come and pay their respects

2010 Events at AeroVenture
| 20th & 21st March | IET Science Week Open Days Contribution
National Science and Engineering Week (NSEW) is a ten day programme of science, engineering and technology events. Dr Mike Diprose will be running open days for Science Week 2010 at Doncaster Aeroventure for Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st March.
Saturday is a Family Day, when parents and grandparents will be encouraged to join in.
Sunday will be different, with three lectures being given by Dr Mike Diprose, these will be:-
- The evolution of the piston aero engine, until the late 1940s. (approx 1 hr)
- The history of the steam engine for aircraft. (approx 1 hr)
- To Hess or not to Hess - who was the prisoner in Spandau and was he murdered? (approx 15/30 mins)
For those attending all three presentations, a buffet lunch will be provided.

An open day of Emergency Vehicles and related exhibits for the museum and private collections plus demonstrations by South Yorkshire Fire Service and South Yorkshire Police Dog Unit (subject to operational availability) amongst others with trade stands and refreshments.

| 5th & 9th June | 70th anniversary for the Museum's Buildings, 271 Squadron reforming at Doncaster and 616 South Yorkshire Squadron
70th anniversary for the Museum buildings and site constructed in 1940. This event also celebrates the contributions made by the Doncaster based 271 Squadron RAF and 616 Squadron, South Yorkshire's own Royal Auxilliary Air Force squadron, to the Battle of France, the Dunkirk evacuation and the Battle of Britain. There will be guided tours at 11:00am and 2:00pm with a narrative to accompany the displays.

The 100th anniversary of the 1910 air show being the second held at Doncaster Racecourse following the success of the previous years first air display in Britain in 1909 at Doncaster. Our 1909 Bleriot XI aeroplane replica is featured and there are guided tours at 11:00am and 2:00pm with a narrative to accompany the displays.
